This is NOT for beginners

I bought 2 kits to learn along with my kid since they wanted to learn to crochet. The yarn texture feels nice but the individual strands separate causing the hook to get caught, which doesn't help beginners.

The pattern video goes too fast. I spent 3 weeks learning how to crochet from other YouTube videos before I made my cereal bowl. I still cannot teach my kid. I will probably have to buy a Woobles kit just for him since I've heard they have tiny video clips to keep replaying until you understand how to do the movement.

I did add on the hook and magic ring guide. The hook seems fine to me but I bought a 4 mm hook after I realized my stitches are a bit loose. I don't know how to use the magic ring guide, but I learned with other videos how to make a magic ring.

Overall, with the video that goes too fast and the separating yarn, this kit is probably fine for an experienced crocheter that wants to learn to make amigurumi. I would not recommend this kit to someone who knows nothing about crochet.
